Geometry and Mesh Generation Workshops (GMGW) assess the current state-of-the art in geometry and mesh generation technology and software as applied to aircraft and spacecraft systems. They will help identify and develop understanding of areas of needed improvement (performance, accuracy, applicability) in geometry and mesh generation technology software. And they will provide a foundation for documenting best practices for geometry and mesh generation.
Workshops are open to participants worldwide and provide an unbiased forum for discussion of results and promotion and cross-pollination of best practices. Participants (those people who generate meshes) and any interested parties who wish to attend, listen, and contribute are welcome.
The 3rd AIAA Geometry and Mesh Generation Workshop (GMGW-3) will be held in conjunction with the 4th AIAA High Lift Prediction Workshop on January 7, 2022 at the AIAA SciTech Forum in San Diego, CA. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and our workshops inability to meet in-person during 2021, the decision was made to shift the jointly held workshops so they may be held IN PERSON.
Prior to the workshop, a virtual Workshop Progress Meeting will be held on July 15-16, 2021. This meeting will bring all of the Technology Focus Groups (TFGs) together for an assessment of progress and determination of areas requiring more focus prior to the January in-person event. Read More
